The Great Patriotic War left a heavy legacy on our land – the memory of the terrible tragedies of people who became witnesses and victims of the terrible crimes of genocide of the Belarusian people.
The General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus opened a criminal case in April 2021 and is currently investigating on the facts of the commission of genocide of civilians on the territory of Belarus by Nazi criminals, their accomplices, and criminal groups during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period.
!!️For three years, active work has been carried out to restore historical justice. Archives are being collected, documents are being studied, and sites of mass extermination are being excavated. Our task today is to restore the history of every warrior, every innocent victim.
On April 17, a dialogue platform “Genocide of the Belarusian people – new facts” was held in the Central Library named after Yanka Kupala, to which the assistant prosecutor of the Sovetsky district of Minsk was invited Golubeva Valeria Aleksandrovna and students of the Minsk Radio Engineering College.
The assistant prosecutor spoke about new facts discovered during the investigation, about mass grave sites, which are now given the status of historical and memorial burial sites. Students and teachers of the college were able to inquire about the details of the criminal case investigation.
The event was accompanied by a permanent book exhibition “The Evil Things of the Life”, equipped with an installation and stand with augmented reality, created with the support of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo and Sound Documents .
